1. Who we are
Mabny (“Mabny”, “we”, “us”) provides project-lifecycle software for engineering and construction firms, based in the United Arab Emirates. For questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
2. Our role
Mabny is used by organisations (“customers”), such as engineering consultancies, which invite their team members to a shared workspace. For the content a customer puts into Mabny (projects, clients, documents, milestones), the customer decides what is collected and why, and we process it on their behalf. For account details and data about how our website and app are used, we decide how that data is handled.
3. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and, if you sign in with Google, your profile picture. Mabny has no passwords; you sign in with Google or an emailed link.
- Workspace content: what you and your team enter, such as project names, client names and contact details, stages, payment milestones, checklist items, comments and the activity history of each project.
- Google Drive data: when your organisation connects Google Drive, the names, identifiers and links of the files and folders Mabny creates or that you choose to attach. See section 5.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, and server logs of requests and errors, used to keep the service secure and working.
- Messages: anything you send us when you contact support.
4. How we use it
- To provide the service: sign you in, show your organisation’s workspace and keep project history.
- To send service emails such as sign-in links, invitations and reminders about stages or milestones.
- To keep Mabny secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To understand how the product is used in aggregate so we can improve it.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
5. Google user data
When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture. When an organisation connects Google Drive, Mabny uses that access only to create each project’s folder structure and to reference the files your team attaches to checklist items. We do not read the contents of files for any other purpose.
Mabny’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not use it to train AI models. People at Mabny can read it only with your permission, for security reasons, or where the law requires it.
You can disconnect Mabny at any time from your Google account permissions.
6. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run Mabny, and only as much as they need:
- Cloud hosting providers that run our servers and databases.
- An email delivery provider for sign-in links, invitations and notifications.
- Google, for sign-in and Google Drive, when you choose to use them.
Within your organisation, other members of your workspace can see the content shared there. We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy continues to apply.
7. Where data is stored
Our providers may store and process data outside the UAE. When they do, we use providers that apply appropriate safeguards, as required by applicable data protection law.
8. How long we keep it
We keep workspace content for as long as the customer’s account is active. When an account is closed, we delete or anonymise its data within 90 days, except where we must keep it longer by law. Server logs are kept for a limited time for security purposes.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to people who need it, and each organisation’s data is kept separate from other organisations’ data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect yours and will notify affected customers of a breach as required by law.
10. Cookies
The Mabny app uses only essential cookies, to keep you signed in and remember the organisation you last used. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. If your data is in a customer’s workspace, we may refer your request to that customer. To make a request, email [email protected].
12. Children
Mabny is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 18.
13. Changes
We will update this policy as Mabny grows. If a change is significant, we will let customers know before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
